  • Old Dongola: Christian site with ruins of two monasteries south of the town of Dongola
  • Kawa: ruins of an Egyptian temple built by the Pharaohs Akhenaton just in face of the town of Dongola.
  • Argo: small rests of an Egyptian settlement located on the Island of Argo north of the town of Dongola.
  • Kerma: two huge bricks buildings from the Kerma culture, an important predynastic stage of the civilization of this area, located south of the 3rd Cataract. The new museum (opened in January 2008) with many objects and the 7 statues of Pharaohs just discovered by the Swiss mission
  • Tombos: old granite quarries with many stele engraved on the rocks among the rock formations of the 3rd Cataract.
  • Sebu: many rock engravings from prehistoric times to the Egyptian dynasties, just north of the 3rd Cataract.
  • Soleb: big Egyptian temple built by Amenhotep, located on the western Nile shore about 150 km. south of the Egyptian border.
  • Sesibi: ruins of the temple of Amenophis IV, located on the western Nile shore about 150 km. south of the Egyptian border.
  • Sedeinga: ruins of the small temple built by Amenophis III  (1400 b.C.) located on the western Nile shore about 150 km. south of the Egyptian border.
  • Sai Island: ruins of Egyptian temple and Turkish fort located on the island of Sai, about 120 km. south of the Egyptian border.
