The Western desert
This desert is huge; it covers the enormous extension that goes from the Nile eastwards to the border with Chad westwards and from the border with Egypt northwards as far as Sahel that bounds the desert southwards.  A 700 km by 700 km "square" of territory, as big as France, practically uninhabited.  The morphology of this territory is different from the other deserts in Sudan in the northern region: mainly level ground, with few sandy formations and no volcanic formations.  Only the rest of ancient faults that form hill ranges mainly located north-southwards.  The meeting with nomads at the wells where the big camel herds come to water is with no doubt an interesting experience.  Also this area is inhabited by Bisharin nomads, but Kababish tribes often go through it to lead the big camel herds, raised in this "fertile" area, on the way to Egypt.
