We will discover the interesting Somali culture by visiting its capital Mogadishu. We will explore its historic landmarks and lively markets where we can taste its delicious cuisine and meet its friendly people. Mogadishu is a city that is slowly rebuilding and ready to welcome visitors.

Day 1: Mogadishu - arrival

Upon your arrival in Mogadishu, you’ll be assisted in obtaining a visa upon arrival. Afterward, you’ll be transferred from the airport to your hotel. Following a quick check-in and refreshments, a briefing will be held to provide you with an overview of your tour in Mogadishu.

Your first visit will be to the Unknown Soldier Monument, a place of great historical significance dedicated to those who sacrificed their lives for Somalia’s independence.

Depending on your arrival time, You’ll also have the opportunity to visit Lido Beach, one of Somalia’s most popular beaches. Here, you can interact with locals while enjoying a cup of Somali tea. Peace Park, the city’s largest and most beautiful park, will be another stop where locals gather for relaxation. Your day will conclude with a typical dinner.

Day 2: Mogadishu

Start your day with a visit to the fish market after breakfast. Mogadishu’s fish market is known for its photogenic charm, particularly during the lively morning hours. You’ll also get a glimpse of the old harbor, Somalia’s oldest port.

Next, explore Mogadishu’s iconic lighthouse, which stands as a symbol of the city’s maritime heritage, though it is no longer operational. For those willing to brave the damaged staircases, a climb to the top offers breathtaking views over the bay. Lunch will be at a local Somali restaurant, where you can savor traditional Somali cuisine. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit bazaars and malls in an area known as Mogadishu Mall, giving you insights into daily life in Somalia.

Other notable visits include the SYL Monument, commemorating the founding of the Somali Youth League, and the Monument at Dhagahtur, symbolizing the struggle for independence from colonial rule. You’ll also explore the Union Mosque, one of the Horn of Africa’s largest religious sites, with a capacity of over 10,000 people.

End your day with dinner and another comfortable overnight.
