Day 1 / Socotra airport – Hoomil

Your guide will pick you up at the airport in Socotra. Before reaching the first camping site of this amazing journey, we make a short stop in Hadiboo where we will have lunch in a local restaurant. After a 2 hours drive, we arrive at the Momi Plateau where we will have an easy walk through the beautiful Wadi Kalisan and swim in the pools.

Day 2 / Hoomil - Harher

After breakfast, we will visit the Hoomil infinity pool to enjoy its beautiful clear water and the wonderful setting around us. After that, we will have a short 40-minute walk down the mountain to reach the cars and drive to the dunes of Harher. Here we can swim in the beautiful blue waters of the sea and enjoy the view of the tall dunes leaning on the rocks. For lunch, we will go to the village of Ersel and eat at our friend Kamis’ house, a local fisherman, where we can spend time having tea and chilling out in the shade of his house. Today we will set the camp in a different place than everybody else, on a beautiful, solitary beach with no other tourists. Relaxing and swimming on this beach are possible activities for the afternoon, contemplating the sunset after a walk on the east cape of the island. Tonight the sound of the waves will accompany you while falling asleep.

Day 3 / Harher – Dixam Plateau

In the morning we move by car to the Dixam Plateau with some stops on the way to visit a small museum and a nursery of baby Dragon Blood trees, where we will have the possibility to learn more about the unique endemic species of the island. Late in the morning, we reach a beautiful campsite located near a canyon, from where you can spot the Dragon Blood tree forest on the other side of the creek. Here we will camp for three nights. After lunch and some rest, we will start our walk down the canyon to bond with the nature around us and to reach a beautiful panoramic point. Along the way, we will encounter many Dragon Blood trees and have some stops to admire the view. After a 3 km easy walk, we will reach the main panoramic point, standing on a terrace located in the middle of the canyon from where we can easily admire the valley below us.

Day 4 / Dishebro

Today we move by car to the south of the island, we will spend the day visiting the beautiful scenery of the south-west, the village of Dishebro, and the beautiful dunes nearby. After a picnic lunch, we will drive to reach the white dunes of Hayez that create a suggestive contrast with the blue waters of the sea. In this magical place, we will end the day with a beautiful sunset before returning to our campsite in the Dixam plateau.

Day 5 / Dixam Plateau

In the morning we move by car to the Wadi Dirhor, at the bottom of the canyon, where we will have a walk admiring the rock formations and the bottle trees on their walls. In this wadi, we may also find some natural pools with crystal clear water, where we can swim while enjoying the beautiful nature around us. We have a picnic lunch in the creek and after some rest, we reach the Firmhin forest in the afternoon. Here we will have a short 30-minute walk inside the dense forest of Dragon Blood trees, and we will reach a panoramic point to enjoy the unique view of thousands of these trees creating a stunning landscape. After that, we move by car to go back to our campsite with a stop along the way to a panoramic point to enjoy the sunset.

Day 6 / Dixam Plateau - Qalansia

In the morning we move by car to Qalansia, and after a short stop at the Blue Hole, a natural swimming pool located hundreds of meters from the sea, we reach Qalansia and the Ditwah Lagoon. Here we will enjoy some snorkeling and a swim on the amazing beach nearby before heading to the campsite near the Lagoon where we will have lunch. In the afternoon, we will have a short visit to the friendly village of Qalansia, where many houses are built with old corals. After that, we will have some free time for a swim before driving up to one of the best panoramic places on the island to enjoy the sunset over Qalansia and its beautiful small bay.

Day 7 / Qalansia – Qaban - Hadiboo

After breakfast, we take a traditional boat to go to Qaban, a beautiful village on the Shoab beach. The boat ride along the coast is impressive, with high cliffs and many different shades of blue of the water. After one hour, we reach the Shoab beach, a white long strip of sand that can only be reached by boat. In the village of Qaban we’ll have lunch with local people and in the afternoon we will have time to enjoy the beach. Then we will start our way back to Qalansia with some stops for snorkeling if possible. Late afternoon, we reach Qalansia where we start our drive back to Hadiboo for the last night in a hotel. Tonight we will have our farewell dinner in a local Yemeni restaurant.
